TL;DR: Fastest food service of my life. Went here last night for the first time. At first I was a bit annoyed at the two item per person minimum. Then I noticed the menu was extensive (almost Cheesecake Factory level of options) and the food appeared to be high quality. After ordering off a QR code on my phone, the seasoned fries arrived within 60 seconds -- possibly 30 -- no exaggeration. Within the next two minute and a half the nachos and drinks arrived. I've NEVER experienced service this quick at a venue so large, and we weren't even in VIP seats. Whatever the wait staff is doing, they're doing it right. I originally thought this would be a four star review for the entire experience (comedy, music, food, price point), but experiencing my order basically teleport to my table seconds after ordering it was miraculous. Five stars for the wait staff. Kudos, San Jose Improv.

I always have a good time when coming to the Improv as a date or with friends. The food is not bad, I ordered a burger and fries and cant complain. On my last visit to see King Bach, I had a really good seat even though I didn't get there early enough to wait in line. Only things was my seat was dirty with some sticky stuff. Kinda gross. I was at the early show not the late one. Bathroom has toilet paper so thats a good sign. You can guarantee a great evening when buying tickets to a show here. I found parking off the street and avoided paying in a garage although there are a few garages with free 90 min parking.

In downtown San Jose and near a bunch of bars and eateries is San Jose Improv. It's a nice comedy club with upper level and lower level seating. They have a purchase 2 item minimum. My friends and I ate right before hand so I just tried the strawberry shortcake mason jar dessert and got a hot tea. Hot tea was your typical black tea bag for $4 and the strawberry shortcake was disappointing. It's just pieces of a simple vanilla pound cake with a little strawberry puree/jam at the bottom topped with cool whip for $10. I'd rate it a 4/10. The staff here are friendly. I believe one of our server's name was Chris and he was great.

You know from reading all the reviews on this place, I wasn't super excited to come back. I had been here maybe a decade previous to my last visit and to prepare we did a couple of things. We got there early, we ordered all our items at the beginning and then food as well. Yet in the end I don't think we had to really do that. I mean getting there early was a good idea, as we got great seats! But the service did not lag, they got our orders correct, the food was good and everything was timely and it didn't get in the way of the performance. We had a blast !

Came on a Sunday night with a group of 4 sitting VIP. There was a separate line and they let the VIP inside the venue first. Staff was friendly. Intimate setting with appealing seats and tables with just enough space (not cramped like other comedy spots.) QR code ordering for food and drinks. My party didn't eat dinner beforehand so we browsed the menu with our eyes ordering more than our stomachs could handle. We ordered so much, I was surprised they brought everything altogether. On to the food! Pretzel - 5/5 - They give 3 soft, salty, and slightly buttery pretzels with salt pieces on it. Comes with cheese dip and honey mustard. For something so simple they were quite scrumptious. Shrimp taco - 4/5 - Spiced nicely. Shrimp were on the smaller end but they gave enough. Chicken taco - 1/5 - Dry taco with chicken lacking flavor. Needed sauce. Easy pass. Chicken quesadilla - 2/5 - Same dry chicken with cheese helping it out, although served not warm enough for a cheese pull. Was missing a drizzle on top as in the description. Buffalo Cauliflower - 5/5 - Crispy outside, soft inside, with a flavorful Buffalo seasoning. Not that spicy at all. Highlight/surprise of night. Chicken Nachos - 3/5 - lots of chips to topping ratio. I'm usually one for real cheese but cheese dip was adequate. Pico de gallo, nacho cheese, beans, and jalapeños created a perfect bite. Wish there was more toppings. Cheese burger - 3.5/5 - Fresh indredients and a bed of fries. Tasted really good, although wasn't the star of the show. Garlic parm fries - 4/5 - Super garlicky with slight oil. Fries got soggy quick although flavor was there.
